CIRCULAR KNIT

Circular or tubular knit is Garment which made from Fabric Knitted In circular tubes on machines. To handle this Garment, There is two way:

First: The tubes Are knitted correspond to the chest and no stitch in side seam

When the chest measurement is different, we need different machine too, it depends to size spec from the buyer, or maybe sometimes we must built the machine to adjust with the measurement from the size spec.

If the knitted fabric delivered in rolls, we must make the fabric relaxed before we cut this, because the fabrics was stretch during the rolled up process

How?

We can leave it on the cutting table overnight, or we can use relaxed fabrics machine.

After that, we can cut the fabric.

Circular knit as a part of a garment collection

1. Basics:

Basics are NOS (Never out of Stock ), it means the suppliers always have this, and the production is continued within 48 hours.

The most popular colors are black and white, and suitable with the trend, the style can be sleeveless, short and long sleeve, and with the different neck shape, it can be v- neck, round neck, etc. and it can used by man or woman.

The manufacture in Central America are specialized on basics production, but they just produce one or two body, with maximum five colors, standard measurement, and they just use their own label.

They have a highly competitive price, even often they have a lower price than Bangladesh, why? .Because they have high productivity to produce basics.

High productivity = bigger output = Lower price.

And another factor is on every time they just produce basics, no print, no embroidery, and no side seam. Because of that. They have more skill for make their job faster and faster. But they can sell their product to the printers and embroidery maker.

And this how that Asia can’t handle this.

2. Standard

Most of logo is made from embroidery in the neck opening and or on the chest

The popular fabrics that often used for standard is ca. 240 gr. Cotton pique

The shrinkage shouldn’t exceed max. 4 %.

Fashion

Circular knits are part of all fashion collection.

The style can be fancy, print, and embroidery elaborate and color full.

The most important is “color story”, which have to make the color are match with the other color, example the color of the skirt is orange, and for the color of the shirt, you must be find another color that can be match with the color of the skirt..

Why we must think about Color Story?

Because it is very important if we want to sell the product in collection, if we don’t think about the color story, it’s possible that the consumer doesn’t buy more than one product.

But, if we can match the color (color story), the consumer will buy more than one product, and it can increase our profit.

Fleece and Polar Fleece

Fleece and polar fleece are very popular in every fall and winter season.

Fleece often made from100% Cotton, or mix cotton and polyester,

The different fleece and polar fleece are, fleece just brushed on one side and the weight is heavier than polar fleece.

Polar fleece is brushed on both side and mostly use 100% polyester, and polar fleece is lighter than fleece.

Why polar fleece use 100% polyester? Because there is very cold in the winter and polyester have a characteristic that it can make your body warm.

Main Product Groups

Circular Knit is divided to:

· T- Shirt (Top shirt)

It’s the biggest seller whole year around, the different with t-shirt is polo shirt have collar and t-shirt doesn’t have.

· Sweat shirt

This often used in cold season, long sleeve and thick fabric, heavier, jersey.

Circular Knit as an integrated part of a collection

All of fashion collections need to be match in the color story and color shades.

A collection includes woven garment, pullover and flat knit.

That is impossible that we can make the color 100% match with the buyer color sample, but it possible that we can make the color near with the color sample.

That color can be lighter or darker than color sample.

Sewing Thread

The circular knit fabrics are stretch, and in the side of body need to match except the shoulder seam.

Sewing thread is more flexible than knitting thread.

The different size sewing thread is based on the thickness or weight of the fabric.

The finer the yarn the higher the size number is.

If the yarn number is small, it means the yarn is big.

A large sewing thread supplier have ca. 1000 colors, but however often consumer have request for the new color which the supplier doesn’t have in their stock, so they must make it from the beginning.

The important qualities of sewing thread are:

1. The strength of the yarn

Sewing needle

The needles for woven garment are different with needle for knitting garment.

The woven garment use needle that have a sharp point, but knitted garment use ball-point needle. Ball-point needle have a round point, so it can not cut a thread but pushed it aside.

The basic stitch is CHAIN STITCH, it give some stretch ability. Usually use “Pegasus” Machine, it’s specialized for circular knit.

Stitch Length

Buyer always give us SPI or stitch per inch, so we must follow the instruction and change the stitch length based on what the buyer want.

We can change the stitch length with the button on the sewing machine that can make the stitch bigger or smaller than before, but specials for the shape stitch or the stitch on the inside and we can not see it, we can change the stitch length, because for shape stitch we need to be accurate to follow the pattern, and if we want to do that to produce the good shape (collar, sleeve cuff, etc), it’s easier if we use the smeller stitch length.

Shoulder Seam

Some times we use REINFORCED for shoulder seam,

Reinforced is look like a plastic for prevent the stretching, it can made from transparent polyester / nylon..

Measurement

The most important part is, how can we follow the buyer size spec detail.

Minimum 12 different measurement including bottom opening will be checked in final inspection before have any permission for shipment.

Folding

Every buyer has their own folding instructions

Example:

Folding size 28 x 38 cm for men / ladies t/ polo/ sweat shirt.

Layering with tissue paper or carton

They don’t use any plastic again, because of the global warming.

And may be they can on demand with NGO.

Packing

Same like folding, every buyer have their own packing instruction too.

It’s depend on :

Logistic central and central organization, and distribution to retail outlet.

Example the general guideline for packing:

· all packing material are recyclable, and no plastic

· don’t over pack, because it can be bulging

· on the carton must have buyer’ instruction, with print and no hand writing

· Smooth handling, that can’t happen double corrugated card board.
